Game Day
Game day for the Lightning is a great occasion and involves a number of people. Find out a bit more about them below.

Paul Drew - Game Commissioner
I have been associated with the Lightning since 1994 when I joined the then Management Committee as Vice President. I had a 20 year association with Sturt Basketball Club as a coach and committee member. As Games Commissioner, I am one of a team of people, which works together to ensure the smooth running of the game. My dream is to see the Lightning repeat or better its three-peat of the 90s.And for those that don.t know, Paul is a scientist, who lectures at Flinders University and has a research interest in the early diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Terry Jones - Statistics Supervisor
I am the Statistics Supervisor for the Lightning and the SA Basketball Statistics Coordinator. Stats play a big role in the game of basketball these days (as with most sports). Many of the season awards are linked to player stats and stats can contribute significantly to players' careers (just like a resume for any other job). My role with the Lightning is to coordinate a great team of very competent stats personnel to collect all the stats for home games at the Distinctive Homes Dome. These stats are distributed to the coaches during the game and then to media for publication at the end of the game. I have been involved in basketball for more than 30 years and enjoy doing stats as it enables me to stay involved with the game I love at the national level. I am happy to talk to anybody interested in basketball stats so, if that's you, come and have a chat if you see me at the Dome.

Damien Graetz - Photographer
As the team photographer, I am responsible for making sure the club has a large range of images to draw upon in helping market and grow the Lightning brand. One of the perks of the job is having the best seat in the house - so close to the action that I am often having to duck to avoid being part of it!

Trevor Baker - Score Table Supervisor
I am Chairman of the Adelaide National League's Score Table Selection Panel and have been in that position since the formation of the Lightning. I have enjoyed working with the score table officials to help them develop and be appointed as Technical Officials at international events held in Australia, including the Sydney Olympics & Paralympics and the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games. I was previously involved in the WNBL as a referee and score table official. I have always enjoyed being involved with the women's game as their strategies are far different from the men's version. It has been particularly exciting to follow the fortunes of the Lightning players in the Opals team. Attending the Gold Medal game in Melbourne last March is one of my most memorable moments.

Dave McKenzie - Video operator
The video operator is responsible for producing a video for each game that both coaches can use to develop their players and develop strategies for when the two teams meet again. A copy of the video is given to the ABC for use in preparing cuts for the weekly basketball program as well as being an archive tape for the WNBL. I enjoy performing this function as, in a small way, it aids the team to improve and achieve success. I also enjoy the feeling of being .part. of the team and giving something back to a sport that I have enjoyed as a player and spectator for many years.

Narelle Smith - Game Day Assistant
This will be my first season helping the Lightning and my role is to help the team on game days, selling merchandise and game day raffle and helping out where ever I can or am needed. I am looking forward to being part of the Lightning success this season.
