Season Tickets

Those of you that have already purchased 2009/10 Season Tickets would have received the draw last week. For those of you that didn't please find it attached to this email.
We would like to have you all on board with the Lightning again this season. We have introduced a new Family Pass option and you can also receive a Lightning supporters t-shirt with every season ticket purchased for only $9 more. I have attached a Season Ticket order form to this email. If you would like to join up please fill it out and email, fax or post back to me. All of these details are listed on my email.
If you already have your tickets maybe you have some friends that would like to join??

The Draw

As you may have noticed with the draw we play 2 regional games this Season. The first will be in Whyalla on Friday 30 October 2009. We have a lot of support from sponsors in this region and as you know our owner, Vince Marino, is based in Whyalla so we wanted to give something back to the Iron Triangle region. For the past couple of years we have played a pre season game in Whyalla but we wanted to do a little bit more this year so we have decided to play one of our regular season games there. The second game will be in Mount Gambier on Friday 8 January 2010. This will be the 3rd season in a row that we have played a game in the Mount and we look forward to returning there in 2010. As Lightning Season Ticket Holders you gain entry into these regional games. So if you feel like a country trip on one of these days, please come along!
We will also be playing a double header with the 36ers on Saturday 30 January 2010. Both teams will be playing against Townsville and we want to make it a celebration of basketball is South Australia. You will be entitled to see the 36ers game at no extra charge.
More details regarding this game will follow in the near future!

T-Shirt Sizes

For those of you that have ordered a t-shirt with your ticket can you please email samw@adelaidelightning.com or call 8444 6441 with the sizes you require. For Adults they will be regular sizes S, M, L, XL or XXL and in children's sizes 8, 10, 12, 14 0r 16. Please note that you will not be able to exchange sizes. They will be the same t-shirts as last years with the Lightning logo on the front if this helps you out at all.

The Team

The team is looking quite good for the 2009/10 season. Returning from last season are Angela Marino, Jessica Foley, Rebecca Duke, Cayla Francis, Mia Newley, Sam Woosnam and our development player from last season Trudy Holland. The new faces you will see are Lisa Wallbutton, Shelly Burston (nee Hammonds) and Nikita Martin. There will also be a couple more players added to this list in the new future!!
Lisa Wallbutton - New Zealand Olympian Lisa is a valuable pick up for the Lightning. She is currently playing in the SEABL for Albury-Wodonga averaging 21.7 points and 12.4 rebounds. She will bring valuable experience to the young Lightning team.
Shelly Burston - Shelly has previously played for Sydney and Dandenong and last season with Bulleen. The Lightning is extremely happy to have Shelly in Lightning colours this year as she has always been a player that hurts us. Despite recovering from knee surgery in February, she still is sure to have a profound impact on the team.
Nikita Martin - after playing for the Sydney Flames last season, Niki returns home to Adelaide. She is currently showing great form playing for West Adelaide averaging 17.9 points and 9 rebounds and should fit into the Lightning program nicely.
