Game Preview: Lightning vs Capitals

23/NOV/2006 – This Friday at the Dome, the Adelaide Quit Lightning will take on the Canberra Capitals in a top of the table clash.

Adelaide will be led by Erin Phillips, who is averaging 16 points per game for the season. Jess Foley has been in good form recently and has a season average of 14 points per game, while Tracy Gahan and Kristen Rasmussen both average double figures as well.

Captain Sam Woosnam returns for this match after missing last weeks encounters, while the sharp shooting Lauren King will provide a spark off the bench.

Jessica Bibby leads the Capitals in scoring, averaging 19 per game at an impressive 52% clip. Her backcourt partner Kellie Abrams is also having a fantastic season, while Natalie Hurst and Tully Bevilaqua play their roles perfectly.

Up front, Tracey Beatty and Abby Bishop give the Capitals twin targets inside. Both have shown they are capable of scoring well if allowed to get good position inside.

There is no question this game will live up to its billing as a possible Grand Final preview, with both teams deep, talented and well coached.
