Strike Squad

Link Lightning are proud to introduce the inaugural Strike Squad.

The squad was introduced to target young players, 17 - 22 years of age, that the Link Lightning coaching staff believe have the potential to play for Link Lightning one day in the future.

Vicki Valk and Tania Dhu spent many hours watching junior games in Adelaide and watching these girls play at ABA level before coming to the final selection of the following players:

• Ieva Nagy
• Cara Boothey
• Jamie-Lee Peris

• Tara Buttress

The Strike Squad will have team training once a week on Sunday's commencing October 26th, 2008. Samantha Woosnam will be coaching the squad along with the assistance of local coaches from ABA level. Individual trainings will be available to the squad on request with Sam, other Lightning players and the other coaching staff. Trainings will be open to developing coaches to attend on either request from their local club or by phoning Sam at the office on 8444 6441 before the training to confirm attendance.

The local basketball community will have a chance to watch the Strike Squad in action commencing November 19th when they will play their first warm-up match to the Link Lightning game against AIS. These warm-up games will be played against the local ABA teams.
